October 19, 2004
The
Jefferson Proving Ground Heritage Partnership met Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at the South Ripley Elementary School at Versailles. President, Norma Lou Irwin presided.
Minutes
of the September meeting were approved as published.
The
financial report was approved on a motion by Marilyn Browning and a second by Louis Munier.
It
was decided to pay $1000 on the HHH loan on a motion by Ken Knouf and seconded by Bill Sanders.
Ken
Knouf told the group about the new restaurant that has opened at JPG. The menu
includes pictures of JPG on the front, back and inside. He also reported on the
October 2 work day at Oakdale School.
The
fall seminar to be held November 13 at the Jennings County Public Library was discussed.
Members were ased to bring cookies, coffee, and tea for morning refreshments.
The seminar will include a silent auction.
Marilyn
Browning reported she would pick up the $400 grant check for the seminar from the Ripley County Community Foundation. David Lee volunteered to check on the money due from the Regatta for parking fees.
A
total of $300 was made at the Chautauqua booth. Plans are to have a booth again
next year.
Terry
Stephenson discussed the long range plan of work.
Thanks
were extended to Ron Harsin for all the work he has done and is doing on the website.
Ron reported the site had 167 hits on the latest count.
A
motion was made by Ken Knouf and seconded by David Lee to reimburse Louis Munier $290 for the purchase of “Echoes of
JPG”. Motion passed.
Annual
dues are now being accepted.
The
next meeting is Tuesday, November
16, 2004 at 7:00 P.M. at the Madison Holiday Inn Express.
