Our 2008 Annual Fall Seminar !

The Jefferson Proving Ground Heritage Partnership met Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at the South Ripley Elementary School in Versailles.
 
The financial report was reviewed and filed for audit.
 
An afternoon tour was planned for April 30, which would include Millersburg and a picnic at the Benville Bridge.
 
Regatta parking fees were discussed.  As yet, the $495 for 2004 has not been received.  The Regatta committee will be contacted again regarding the fees.
 
Terry Stephenson, HHH RC&D coordinator, reported a grant for $9,130 toward printing and publishing costs of the Historical Preservation Project has been received from Rising Sun REgional Foundation.  Funds are still needed for salary for a transcriber.  Going forward with the project was discussed.  Additional funding is being requested from the Jennings County and Jefferson County commmunity foundations.  The Rising Sun grant must be used within a year.
 
Jean McClellan reported she plans to do a separate publication on histories she has collected and stated she does not want her interviews to be included in the JPGHP project.
 
The annual fall seminar was discussed briefly.  The partnership hopes to hold the seminar at Old Timbers.  The theme will be Ripley County. 
 
There was some discussion on John Dillinger and it was determined, by the dates he was in prison, he could not have robbed the New Marion Bank.
 
Report was given by Ken Knouf on the Good Friday trip to Otter Creek Church and cemetery sites.  Evelyn Comer reported on of the three men hanged at Versailles was burried in the walkway of the cemetery.
 
Membership was discussed.  The executive committee is to meet to determine the dues and classifications.
 
Knouf reported the Army has a new website.   http://www.jpgbrac.com
and it went public a few days before the meeting.
 
A total of $27 was received on donations and card sales.
 
Sixteen members attended the meeting
 
Next meeting is Tuesday, May 17, at Holiday Inn Express at Madison.
